Hip pain is a common problem with many potential causes. Pain may be caused by problems with your hip joint, the muscles that support your hip joint, and/or diseases and conditions in other areas of your body. Many times, hip pain can be controlled with medication and physiotherapy. For many people, though, pain may become chronic and disabling.

The most common cause of chronic hip pain and disability is arthritis, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and traumatic arthritis. Normally, all parts of your hip work in harmony, allowing you to move easily and without pain.

Arthritis causes the cartilage that normally cushions the hip bones to become inflamed, wear away, or break, causing pain and stiffness.

At the Worcestershire Knee and Hip Clinic I specialise in treating hip destruction due to arthritis. Many of my patients who were out-of-action are now back to the life they love.

I offer the SPAIRE technique and robotic-arm assisted surgery.
